Aquaculture assessments and value chain pilots for improving fish supply, employment and nutrition in Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola project

Abstract
- The fish feeds and nutrition research in DRC focused on four areas according to the project objectives, outputs, and activities: i) Feed ingredients scoping ii) Feed formulation (and manufacture) using locally available ingredients iii) Research protocol for an applied fish feed research with Tilapia iv) Better Management Practice (BMP) guide for feeds WorldFish Feeds and Nutrition Scientist (Dr. Rodrigue Yossa) worked remotely with IITA Aquaculture Specialist (Janvier Mushagalusa) on the planning of these four activities. Dr. Yossa then travelled to DRC at the end of July to conduct the ingredient scoping, formulate practical experimental diets, develop the research protocol, and set the baselines for the development of the Better Management Practice (BMP) guide for feeds.
