dc.description.abstract | An examination is made of the past and present status of the Costa Rica fishery. Continuing decline in production figures indicate the need for development. Two management options are considered: 1) no increase in production, but a reduction in post-harvest losses; and 2) increase in production by increasing fishing effort, exploiting new resources and aquaculture. | |
