Promoting greater coherence between small-scale fisheries and social protection policies, mechanisms and programs in Cambodia: Research Summary

Abstract
- The aim of this policy brief is to make policy-relevant suggestions related to the following questions: 1. How can vulnerable fisher-farmers’ access to social protection be enhanced? 2. What potential exists for social protection and fishery-related policies, institutions, mechanisms programs to: a. mutually reinforce poverty reduction; and b. incentivize conservation and sustainable use of fisheries and related natural resources. Thus, the recommendations in this document are designed to improve levels of inclusion of vulnerable fisher-farmers in existing social protection policy and programs, based on factors specific to these fisher-farmers which lead to inequitable access compared to other groups.
