Inland fisheries critical for the diet quality of children in sub-Saharan Africa

Abstract
- This poster presentation, Inland fisheries critical for the diet quality of children in sub-Saharan Africa, was delivered by Lydia O'Meara for the 4th Global Food Security Conference. The presentation outlines the findings of research undertaken by WorldFish, the Natural Resources Institute, the University of Zambia, and FAO as part of the Illuminating Hidden Harvests study. The research highlights how fish is one of the most commonly consumed foods in rural Malawi and Zambia, underscoring how fish-based strategies can be leveraged to improve the diet quality of children in sub-Saharan Africa.
