    Abstract
    • The objectives of the quarterly progress report are to describe progress during the period, major challenges faced, opportunities and lessons learned. The key achievements of Artemia4Bangladesh project during June- August, 2021 are - i. Organize three consultation meetings with stakeholders (Artemia and aquaculture farmers, crab value chain) ii. Development of communication and visibility materials (10 festoons, 4 pop up banners, 1 note book, 1 case study) iii. Signing Agreement on climate research in collaboration with CGIAR research programme climate change agriculture and food Security iv. Completion of baseline survey data collection (n=400) v. Organize an international Artemia workshop with participants from 14 countries vi. Organize a Training of Trainers (ToT) on gender sensitization activities vii. Success in Artemia biomass production (110 kg) and supply to the shrimp hatcheries viii. Screening Artemia biomass for shrimp pathogens namely white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), enterocytozoon hepatopeanei (EHP) and acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) ix. Shrimp production in aquaculture demonstration ponds @300-660 kg/ha/90 days. Country-wide partial lockdown from 25 June to 10 August 2021 due to upsurge of delta variant of COVID-19 caused major challenges in program implementation. Project activities continued with appropriate measures such as virtual communication, travel following COVID-19 safety regulations.
