Thus it is possible to obtain reasonable estimates of Z from the mean length in a representative sample, or from the slope of Jones' cumulative plot. In this article, a variety of approaches for analysing length-frequency data are presented which represent the functional equivalent of [age structured] catch curves; these "length-converted catch curves" are built around assumptions similar to those involved in age-structured catch curves.application/pdfCC BY 4.0Journal Article
