It contributes to the state's economic growth and provides employment opportunities to its people. Rivers like the Ganga, Kosi, and Gandak, along with ponds and wetlands, are the primary sources for fish farming in Bihar. Freshwater fish species like Rohu, Catla, Mrigal, Amur Carp, and Grass Carp are commonly farmed in abundance here. This industry not only supports food security but also boosts the income of the state and farmers through exports.
