dc.description.abstract | Difficulties are usually encountered when small pelagic species are to be assessed, using simple classical methods such as the surplus production model. Interannual variations of recruitment and fishing patterns and consequences for the use of analytical methods are discussed, considering in particular length-frequency distribution and use in fish stock assessment. | |
