dc.description.abstract | Rice-fish culture in Asia is discussed, examining reasons for the current decline in the practice. Factors of importance for a reappraisal of rice-fish culture and development of new technologies and management systems are described: 1) anticipated changes in rice agronomy implications for rice-fish culture; 2) fish production from deepwater rice ecosystems; and 3) raising herbivorous fish in rice fields. | |
