dc.description.abstract	The objectives of the workshop were designed to place emphasis on applications. It was perceived that the fisheries are at present so intense and the available information so limited, that a special effort should be made to develop from present understandings a set of tools for rough and ready action, now. Awaiting the development of much more sophisticated under¬standing before making commitments to particular approaches was not seen as a prudent course of action.
