The project has assembled a strong team, and progressed well with engagement at national, municipal, hamlet (postu) and community (suco) levels. The project is linked well with new and ongoing initiatives in areas of climate adaptation, coastal resilience, and aquatic biodiversity, and has attracted considerable new co-funding over the past year. Building on existing physical vulnerability analysis conducted under GEF projects, IkanAdapt has developed an innovative livelihoods framework for climate vulnerability risk assessment (CVRA). Now completed, this forms the basis for developing or revising adaptation plans at community, district and national scale and for co-developing (with communities) interventions to build livelihood resilience. At the national scale, climate interventions in improved coastal planning, communication with communities for fisheries co-management, data systems and ecosystem management are progressing strongly. Through co-funding, ecosystem models for the north and south coasts are being developed to form the basis of a national, as well as species specific ecosystem based fishery management plans.en_US
