Abstract
- The brochure named “Role of Fish seed trader for aquaculture extension” has been published to extend the basic knowledge of the total scientific procedure for fingerling transportation from nursery to the production pond. This brochure briefly describes the primary responsibilities of fish seed traders include the production, distribution, and sale of quality fish seeds (fingerlings or fry) to aquaculture practitioners. The major technical aspect of pond preparation, stocking density, quality fry/fingerling selection criteria, hardening, their transportation system, significance of precaution during transportation have been shortly mentioned in the brochure for the seed traders. “Role of Fish seed trader for aquaculture extension” has been published for the seed traders who play a vital role in the field of aquaculture extension by serving as intermediaries between fish hatcheries, nurseries and fish farmers. By playing these roles, fish seed traders contribute significantly to the sustainable development of aquaculture. Their involvement in aquaculture extension helps bridge the gap between hatcheries and farmers, fostering a collaborative and supportive ecosystem for the growth of the industry.
