Multistakeholder consultation workshop on integrated rice-fish farming systems: Validating the toolkit and determining land adequacy
Abstract
- Integrated rice-fish farming systems present an opportunity for climate-smart agriculture to address nutrition and food security in Mali. To do so, however, the adoption of rice-fish farming systems must be properly targeted to prevent unsustainable practices and reduce unintended consequences. For this purpose, AfricaRice and WorldFish held a joint workshop in Mali on June 20–21, 2023, at Hotel Bouna in Bamako. The workshop achieved the following activities: • Hold multistakeholder consultations on factors that could scale up integrated rice-fish farming systems in Mali. • Validate the toolkit prepared for integrated rice-fish systems. • Plan demonstration activities.
