dc.description.abstract | African aquaculture is poised for rapid expansion. However, one of the key constraints holding back growth of the sector is the poor quality of the fish stocks available for culture. The problems of declines in growth performance associated with the loss of genetic diversity and ways to improve fish stock via genetic improvement strategies are discussed. | |
