| dc.description.abstract | Timor‑Leste’s GIFT tilapia model rapidly boosted smallholder productivity—from 1 t/ha to over 17 t/ha—and shortened production cycles, enabling two harvests annually. Improved seed, feed, training, and market systems expanded participation to more than 850 farmers, raising national output from 45t to over 800t and significantly increasing household incomes. The model demonstrates strong scalability for improving food security, livelihoods, and rural economic development in tropical smallholder contexts. | en_US |
