Fish and other aquatic foods are vital for transforming food systems to better meet Timor-Leste’s nutritional needs. As a research organization, WorldFish contributes to this transformation by focusing on pathways and partnerships that drive innovation, testing, and piloting new approaches. These efforts aim to support Timor-Leste’s development goals towards a future where the sustainable production of aquatic foods plays a central role in improving nutrition and food security. WorldFish works with government and non-government organizations, communities, women and men fishers and farmers, and private enterprise to conduct research that identifies and tests the best ways to increase the sustainable production of aquatic foods, and ensure their nutrients are accessible to the people who need them most.
