USAID | Accelerating Aquaculture Development in Timor-Leste. Final report: February 2021 to July 2023

Abstract

This Final Report covers all the activities supported by the USAID funded activities associated with the four major objectives of the project implemented during the whole period from February 15, 2021, to July 31, 2023 (30 months). The USAID-supported Activity was conceived to accelerate the achievement of the PADTL2 objectives. With the Covid-19 pandemic creating socio-economic conditions beyond normalcy in Timor-Leste, as it had throughout the world, implementation of the PADTL2 project was hampered in several ways. Likewise progress of the USAID-supported Activity was also hampered. The in-country Covid-19 lockdowns and curbs on international travel had direct and significant impacts on delaying the project implementation of the various activities, which were mostly necessarily fieldbased, whereby some can only partially be substituted with remote communication. The project team actively implemented activities achieving remarkable outcomes as soon as the COVID19-related travel restrictions were lifted by the late 2021 and the opening of international flights in early 2022.
