The Aquaculture component of OIIPCRA showcases an integrated, climate-resilient approach that links aquaculture with irrigation infrastructure to improve productivity, livelihoods, and resilience of smallholder farmers. By strengthening seed systems, promoting scientific and diversified farming practices, and building capacities of farmers and Women Self-Help Groups, the project enhanced fish production, stabilized incomes, and reduced climate and market risks. Supported by value-chain interventions and technical assistance, the model demonstrates a scalable pathway for sustainable aquaculture development in climate-vulnerable regions.
