The report highlights progress from January to March 2024 across the Zone of Resilience, Meghna River Ecosystem, and Nijhum Dwip Marine Protected Area. The project advanced ecosystem health, coastal biodiversity conservation, and fisheries monitoring. Noteworthy achievements include climate monitoring, removal of 2,449 kg of plastic waste, and training of 140 Blue Guards on conservation and gender awareness. Analysis of fish landings identified key species, and assessments of five species continued. Citizen Scientists collected data on catch rates, with Moheshkhali having the highest yields. Through the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management, ECOFISH II established Fisheries Conservation Groups (FCGs), provided training, and strengthened income-generating activities (IGAs) for women-led groups (WING). Mariculture trials were initiated, vegetable cultivation promoted, and community awareness raised, with 10,000 posters and 150 uniforms distributed. These initiatives enhance economic resilience and promote sustainable practices in coastal communities.en_US
