The Goal of Development of Bighead Catfish (Clarias microcephalus) Culture for Sustainable
Aquaculture in Cambodia project is to develop and apply new applied aquaculture research
technologies, in order to support bighead catfish (BC) culture in Cambodia.
WorldFish team works collaboratively with the CE SAIN and RUA Faculty of Fisheries teams to
assess the materials available in Cambodia for a wet laboratory at RUA to be operational for
aquaculture nutrition research. WorldFish produced a blueprint, in collaboration with RUA and CE
SAIN, of a wet laboratory that has the capacity for fish nutrition research. This blueprint used as a
reference to strengthen RUA’s Faculty of Fisheries Wet Lab and have forty 150-L aquarium,
mounted in a recirculating aquaculture system (or flow-through system).
