The aim of this report is to describe the progress of the project activities, challenges faced and lessons learned during October-November 2020. The major achievements during this period include: i. The Cox’s Bazar office in operation since 1 November 2020. ii. A signed Memorandum of Agreement between WorldFish and The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation. iii. Selection of six farmers in four sites for Artemia-salt production demonstration. iv. Selection of five farmers in two sites for salt-aquaculture demonstration. v. Selection of two clusters of salt farmers for Artemia and Aquaculture demonstration. vi. Delivery of a Training of Trainers (ToT) course on Artemia pond design and preparation for the project staff and major stakeholders. vii. Development of detailed designs of selected Artemia demonstration sites by the Artemia pond production expert. viii. Preparation of a baseline questionnaire and transfer to Kobo toolbox. Sample frame is under development. ix. Preparation of a database of 1600 salt farmers. x. Development of a factsheet on Artemia4Bangladesh. xi. Purchase of materials and equipment to set up an Artemia laboratory.
