A model for describing the seasonally oscillating growth of fish is presented and compared with the commonly used model of D. Pauly and G. Gaschutz (PG). The new model produces results similar to those obtained from teh PG model, except for the parameter t <subscript>o</subscript> which the new model estimates accurately, such that L <subscript>t</subscript>=0 when t = t<subscript>0</subscript>.
