By 2030, WorldFish Egypt aims to provide training for 20,000 fish farmers on fish breeding, fish feeds and
fish health and to support 250,000 households to exit poverty through livelihood improvements and
the creation of new aquaculture and fisheries-related jobs. The WorldFish program targets an additional
500,000 t of fish production annually by Egypt by 2030, which is expected to improve the nutrition of
500,000 people. Additionally, the program will ensure the protection or remediation of 20,000 ha of aquatic
ecosystems while reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20 percent and improving the efficiency of
water and nutrient use by 10 percent.
