APART project is supporting sustainable intensification and promoting Paddy-cum-Fish integrated farming demonstrations as climate resilient technology with a plan to achieve a fish production of 1 to 1.5 tonnes/ha from paddy-fish integrated systems without compromising paddy yields. A set of recommendations on technical and management interventions will be introduced as BMPs in the demonstration farms for realizing sustainable increase in productivity of Paddy-fish integrated farming system in Assam. Better Management Practices (BMPs) integrating both the paddy and fish farming practices is essential to increase the productivity of both paddy and fish under such integrated farming systems.
