Nigeria is Africa’s second largest aquaculture producer, yet demand for fish far exceeds production, and WorldFish projections indicate that the gap will widen over time. In response, WorldFish has been working since 2019 to boost aquaculture productivity in Nigeria and enhance nutrition and food security. Through training and research, the Center supports 350,000 producer households to adopt improved breeds, fish health and best management practices.
