Monitoring and evaluation training program

Abstract

Freshwater Resources Research Program of the WorldFish Center is aimed at improving food security and eradicating poverty by introducing small-scale fresh water aquaculture as an element into the economic activities of resource poor households in rural area (Bangladesh). The target groups are the poor producers and consumers who can benefit from the better use and management of aquatic resources. After a long experimentation and field trials WorldFish Center has been able to generate low cost productive aquaculture technologies for the resource poor farmers of Bangladesh. Year 2000 was the beginning of the USAID funded Development of Sustainable Aquaculture Project (DSAP). The DSAP has reoriented many of its strategies in 2002 to ensure effective and quality support to the partner NGOs to attain sustainability at both beneficiaries and partner NGO level. Dhaka based administration of DSAP has been restructured and taken to the fields by opening eight regional liaison offices. The report presents the materials which were used for the monitoring and evaluation training program of the partner NGOs involved in aquaculture activities.
