The collaboration project between IGES and WorldFish, known as Nature Futures Fisheries, began in January 2023. Over three years, it aims to develop and analyze nature-positive scenarios for enhancing small-scale fisheries and potentially aquaculture in developing countries. Using a mixed methods approach and the IPBES Nature Futures Framework, the project's initial phase focuses on small-scale fisheries in Timor-Leste, with potential expansion to aquaculture in India. Guidance will be provided by a project advisory committee comprising experts from The University of Tokyo, Tokyo University of Agriculture, and the Policy Research Institute (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries).en_US
